What is the difference between "Default" and "Basic" modes?

The strip tool will keep all fields required to reproduce the image in standard RGB color, not accounting for differences in display quality. Basic mode will keep a few additional fields for accurate color and size reproduction.

PNG - Basic mode will keep gAMA (gamma), cHRM (chromaticities) and pHYs (physical dimensions) fields

JPG - Basic mode will keep application-specific fields

Is it fast? Reliable? Easy to use?

Yes! StripPhoric scans file structures quickly and only write to files that need changing. It is recommended that you backup your files first or keep them in a version control system like Subversion to avoid losing valuable data.

Is this spyware? Adware? Nagware?

No way! As a personal hater of spam, spyware, malware, and bloatly programs, I've made StripPhoric extremely lightweight and reliable. Automatic updates are optional. Nothing runs in the background, and none of your information is sent to any website.
